Season leaderboard for drop-in league nights
Lets the person who runs a weekly pickleball, billiards, darts or cornhole night save the roster, run the round robin, and keep a season-long leaderboard.
The problem
Organizers of casual weekly groups say nobody knows who will show up or for how long, so they reshuffle rotations by hand. One reviewer of a rotation app wishes it would track game results across the whole year. A billiards-league organizer wants to save players, duplicate a past session, and fix scores when a match is abandoned. Today's tools generate pairings well but forget the group between nights.
Who has it: Volunteer organizers of recurring drop-in groups (pickleball, badminton, billiards, darts, cornhole, ping-pong) with 12-40 regulars.
Who pays
The organizer, or the club treasurer, pays so the group stops arguing over rankings and re-entering players each week. · $5-8/month per group, or $40/year
Free for one small group and $5-8/month for larger ones, charged to the organizer. Find first users by posting in local pickleball and billiards-league Facebook groups, and by leaving a shareable leaderboard link that other players in the group see.
What to build first
- Saved roster that persists between nights
- Tap who showed up tonight and generate fair partner/opponent rotations
- Handle late arrivals and early leavers without breaking the rotation
- Abandoned or partial matches can be scored 0-0 or voided
- Season leaderboard and per-player stats on a shareable public link
- Duplicate last session as a template

Starter prompt
Paste it into Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable or Bolt and iterate from there.
Build a mobile-first web app called LeagueNight for organizers of weekly drop-in sports groups. Use Next.js, Supabase (auth + Postgres) and Tailwind. Data model: groups, players (belong to a group), sessions, matches, match_players, scores. Flow: organizer signs in with a magic link, creates a group, adds players once. Each night they open a new session, tick who is present, choose number of courts or tables, and press Generate. The generator rotates partners so repeats are minimized, makes spares sit out evenly, and supports adding or removing a player mid-session without resetting. Each match gets a score entry or a Void button. Add a public read-only leaderboard page per group with season wins, win percentage, and games played, plus a Duplicate Session button. Add a free tier of 1 group and 16 players, and a Stripe paywall for more. Include seed data and basic tests for the rotation logic.
What could go wrong
This is a crowded App Store category (PB Play, Dink!, PlayTime Scheduler, Round Robin Assistant), so you need a clear season-stats angle. Many organizers expect these apps to be free or a one-time $5.99 purchase.
Where we found it
- PB Play App Store reviews — Reviewers say they never know who will show up or for how long, and one wishes the app would track results across the year.
- Round Robin Assistant reviews — A billiards-league organizer wants to save players, duplicate tournaments, and override scores when a match is abandoned.
- Dink! Pickleball Round Robins reviews — An older group of players asks for add-to-calendar because they forget game times.
