Usage-rights renewal alerts for UGC creators
Log each brand deal's paid-usage window and get a ready-to-send renewal quote before the brand's rights expire.
The problem
UGC creators sell time-limited paid-usage and whitelisting rights, but the terms sit in contract PDFs and email attachments. A UGC talent-manager guide says rights terms stored in attachments are effectively unfindable. It also describes a brand running a video nine months after a 30-day window closed, with the creator unable to prove the window existed. Each expiry is also a missed chance to send a renewal quote.
Who has it: Independent UGC and influencer creators with 5 or more active brand deals, and small UGC talent managers.
Who pays
The creator pays to catch overruns and earn renewal fees. A manager pays per roster. · $8-15/month per creator, $29/month for managers
Free for 3 deals, then a flat monthly fee. Reach creators in UGC communities on TikTok, Reddit and Discord, and sell the renewal-quote angle as the way it pays for itself.
What to build first
- Deal form: brand, deliverables, fee, usage scope (organic, paid, whitelisting), start and end date
- Upload the contract PDF and attach it to the deal
- Email alerts 21, 7 and 0 days before expiry
- One-click renewal quote email draft using the original fee and a creator-set uplift percentage
- 'Brand still running it?' reminder sent after expiry
- Calendar (.ics) feed of all expiries

Next.js Supabase Resend Stripe Vercel Cron
Starter prompt
Paste it into Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable or Bolt and iterate from there.
Build a Next.js + Supabase app called RightsClock for UGC creators. Users sign in with Google. They add Deals with brand name, contact email, deliverable description, fee, usage scope (checkboxes: organic, paid ads, whitelisting/allowlisting, raw footage), usage start and end date, and an optional contract PDF stored in Supabase Storage. Show a dashboard sorted by days until expiry with colour-coded badges. A Vercel Cron job runs daily and emails the creator through Resend at 21, 7 and 0 days before expiry. In the 21-day email, include a button that opens a pre-written renewal quote email (editable, mailto: or copy to clipboard) based on the original fee plus a configurable uplift percentage. Add an iCal feed per user. Add a Stripe subscription at $9/month with a free tier of 3 deals. Tailwind and shadcn/ui, mobile friendly.
What could go wrong
Brand-side rights trackers and the UGC Closer creator hub already exist, so a creator-first, renewal-focused niche tool must stay very simple. Many new creators sell perpetual rights, so the need is smaller than it looks. Reminders do not replace legal contract enforcement.
Where we found it
- 12 Best Tools for UGC Talent Managers — The guide says rights terms buried in PDFs are unfindable. It describes brands running videos after a paid window ended, with the creator unable to prove the window existed. It suggests renewal quotes about 21 days before expiry.
- UGC Rights Tracker — A brand-side product built on the claim that rights expire without warning and trigger creator disputes. It sends alerts 14 and 3 days ahead. This shows the problem is recognised, but it serves brands, not creators.
- UGC Closer usage rights tracker — Creator-side tooling that tracks usage windows is bundled inside a larger business hub, so a lightweight standalone version has room.
